D 19632: Degrees Awarded in 2022-2023. Distributed through the Faculty Council website https://facultycouncil.utexas.edu/ on August 31, 2023. In a departure from the practice followed through 1997-98, the classified lists of degrees awarded in 2022-23 will be omitted from the bound volumes of the Documents of the General Faculty. Copies of the lists will be available from the Office of the Registrar.

D 19172: Report of the Committee to Nominate Faculty Members for Appointment to the Intercollegiate Athletics Council. Distributed through the Faculty Council website https://facultycouncil.utexas.edu for no-protest approval on April 7, 2022, and approved April 20, 2022. Transmitted to the President for his action April 25, 2022. On August 30, 2022, President Hartzell appointed J. Thomas Brenna (Professor of Pediatrics), Michael Butterworth (Professor, Communication Studies), Hirofumi Tanaka (Professor, Kinesiology and Health Education), and Anita Vangelisti (Professor, Communication Studies) for four-year terms beginning September 1, 2022, through August 31, 2026.

D 19024-19028: Update to the Core Curriculum Lists for the General Information 2022-23 Catalog. Distributed through the Faculty Council website https://facultycouncil.utexas.edu on October 28, 2021, for no-protest approval. Approved by the Faculty Council November 23, 2021, and Provost Wood was notified of the approval November 29, 2021. Acknowledged by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board May 13, 2022.

D 18162-18163: Faculty Welfare Committee Resolution on Faculty and Staff Paid Medical Leave. Distributed through the Faculty Council website https://facultycouncil.utexas.edu/ on March 30, 2020. The resolution was presented to the Faculty Council at its meeting on April 13, 2020. It was approved by majority vote. On April 14, 2020, the resolution was transmitted to Executive Vice President and Provost Maurie McInnis for her information. On May 22, 2020, the Provost’s office transmitted the resolution to Associate Vice President for Human Resources Adrienne Howarth-Moore for consideration given federal and state laws. On July 15, 2021, the Faculty Council received a memo on the resolution from Adrienne Howarth-Moore. Further discussion detailed in the 2021-2022 Annual Report of the Faculty Welfare Committee.

D 19358-19359: Revisions to Proposed New University of Texas at Austin Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement. Distributed through the Faculty Council website https://facultycouncil.utexas.edu on September 12, 2022. The Secretary classified the proposal as general legislation. Revisions are for D 18263-18267 Proposed New University of Texas at Austin Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement, which was approved by the Faculty Council June 15, 2020. Staff Council endorsed the statement by majority vote on June 18. On June 19, 2020, the Graduate Assembly also voted to endorse the statement by majority vote. On July 7, 2020, Interim Provost Jaffe transmitted the legislation to Interim President Jay C. Hartzell recommending approval. The statement, with revisions, was returned to the Faculty Council and approved at the September 19, 2022, meeting. The legislation was transmitted to Provost Wood September 20, 2022. Provost Wood recommended that the President approve the legislation September 21, 2022. President Hartzell gave final approval on September 27, 2022.

D 18160-18161: Faculty Welfare Committee Resolution on Modified Instructional Duties. Distributed through the Faculty Council website https://facultycouncil.utexas.edu/ on March 30, 2020. The resolution was presented to the Faculty Council at its meeting on April 13, 2020. It was approved by majority vote. On April 14, 2020, the resolution was transmitted to Executive Vice President and Provost Maurie McInnis for her information. The Provost’s office responded on October 7, 2022.

D 19395: Resolution from the Faculty Council Executive Committee Regarding Conferral of Degrees. Distributed through the Faculty Council website https://facultycouncil.utexas.edu on October 19, 2022. Approved by no-protest November 2, 2022. No further action is required.

D 19365-19380: Proposed New Faculty Grievance Policy. Distributed through the Faculty Council website https://facultycouncil.utexas.edu on September 16, 2022. Discussed by the Faculty Council September 19, 2022. Faculty Council approved the legislation by majority vote on October 17, 2022. The new policy was sent to the General Faculty for a no-protest approval period on October 18, 2022, and approved November 9, 2022. Transferred to Provost Wood for her approval November 10, 2022. Approved by Provost Wood and President Hartzell on November 15, 2022.

D 19456-19457: Resolution Honoring James Loehlin. Distributed through the Faculty Council website https://facultycouncil.utexas.edu on January 20, 2023. Approved by majority vote at the January 23, 2023, Faculty Council meeting and transmitted to Provost Sharon Wood for her information on January 24, 2023.

D 19494: Election of Voting Faculty Members to the Undergraduate Studies Advisory Committee. Distributed through the Faculty Council website https://facultycouncil.utexas.edu on March 21, 2023. Voting Council members cast their ballots via Qualtrics from March 21, 2023, through March 31, 2023. Renee Acosta (Clinical Professor) representing the College of Pharmacy and Ryan S. Kelly (Associate Professor of Practice, Butler School of Music) representing the College of Fine Arts were elected for three-year terms of service beginning September 1, 2023. Dean Richard Reddick was notified of the election results via email April 6, 2023.

D 19488: Report of the Committee to Nominate Faculty Members for Appointment to the University Co-op Board of Directors. Distributed through the Faculty Council website https://facultycouncil.utexas.edu on March 13, 2023, on a no-protest basis, and approved March 27, 2023. On April 3, 2023, President Hartzell appointed Shirley E. Thompson (Associate Professor, American Studies) for a four-year term beginning September 1, 2023, through August 31, 2027.
