Candidates from the College of Education

Laura Kelley Estep, Assistant Professor of Practice, Special Education

I am primarily in a teaching role within the Department of Special Education and have taught 17 different courses across undergraduate and graduate levels during my tenure at UT. I focus on mentorship and collaboration through my roles as advisor to our Early Childhood Intervention program, practicum site coordinator, and community partnership coordinator. Additionally, I engage in interdisciplinary research on toilet training technology for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. I’ve had the opportunity to see how our department and college operate and am interested in pursuing this position to participate in faculty governance at the university level. 

Michael A Goodman, Assistant Professor of Practice, Educational Leadership and Policy

I am highly interested and motivated to represent the College of Education. I am an Assistant Professor of Practice in Educational Leadership and Policy, and my research specifically looks at student governance and involvement. As a former student affairs administrator, I take all of what I learned in practice into the classroom - found in my teaching, as well as my research and service. Finally, I see it as important to continue building relationships across the College, so faculty voices are authentically and carefully heard.

Lara Latimer, Assistant Professor of Instruction, Kinesiology and Health Education

I am an Assistant Professor of Instruction and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Kinesiology & Health Education. I am interested in joining Faculty Council to learn more about UT governing processes, to further develop community with colleagues across campus, and to serve my College (Education) and the larger University.

Pablo Montero-Zamora, Assistant Professor, Kinesiology and Health Education

Dr. Pablo Montero-Zamora, a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education (KHE), holds a master’s degree in epidemiology from the National Institute of Public Health in Mexico and a PhD in prevention science and community health from the University of Miami. With extensive research experience across Latin-American countries, his work centers on understanding factors influencing Latino/a youth substance use and mental health, translating findings into preventive interventions. Dr. Montero-Zamora teaches Research Methods and Ph.D. Seminar while contributing to committees such as the KHE Alderson Lecture committee and serving as the Chair of the Research Collaboration workgroup within the International Committee of the Society of Prevention Research, leveraging his passion for cross-disciplinary research collaboration.

Safeer Farrukh Siddicky, Assistant Professor of Instruction, Kinesiology and Health Education

I am an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education, and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biomechanics, motor learning, and motor development. With teaching experience spanning four institutions and leadership roles within national scientific organizations, I recognize the pivotal role of faculty governance in shaping our academic environment. As a member of the Faculty Council, I am enthusiastic about representing the College of Education and advocating for policies that support the professional and personal welfare of professional-track faculty.

Sarah L Woulfin, Associate Professor, Educational Leadership and Policy

I am an associate professor of educational leadership who has studied instructional policy implementation across multiple state and district contexts. I currently serve as co-director of the Educational Policy and Planning PhD program. I am interested in faculty governance to refine conditions for research and teaching as well as to improve students' experiences at UT.
