Election for Student Athletes and Activities Committee

I am an Assistant Professor of Instruction and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Kinesiology & Health Education. I am interested in joining the Student Athletes and Activities Committee to learn more about student athletes' experiences and unique needs so that I can better support them and help them be successful at UT and beyond. I am hoping to further develop community with colleagues across campus, and to serve my College (Education) and the larger University.

I teach sports-related classes in the Moody College of Communicaition and I've also taught Sports Law for several semesters at UT School of Law. I headed ABC Sports’ Department of Legal and Business Affairs for many years before moving to IMG as lead counsel in its New York office, I've had my own business for many years doing media consulting and negotiating for clients in sports and entertainment, including intercollegiate athletics where I've represented bowl games including the Fiesta Bowl, the Big 12 Conference, WAC, Sun Belt, University of Nebraska Athletic Department, University of Texas Athletic Department and Boise State University. I am the former Chairman of the Committee on Professional Sports of the Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. I've appeared on numerous sports broadcasting panels and has been quoted as a sports media expert by publications such as The New York Times, USA Today, ESPN.com, CBS Sports.com, Sports Business Journal and Sports Business Daily, Dallas Morning News, San Antonio News-Express and Austin American-Statesman

I've been on the McCombs faculty for over 17 years teaching fundamental and graduate accounting courses. I've also served as director of our Master in Professional Accounting program for 5 years. I've been interested in serving on a faculty committee for many years and look forward to helping the university community.
